The first issue of Al-Ahram newspaper was published on August 5, 1876, in Alexandria, Egypt. Founded by two Lebanese brothers, Bishara and Saleem Takla, it began as a weekly publication before becoming a daily newspaper. Over time, Al-Ahram grew into one of the oldest and most influential newspapers in the Arab world, known for its wide coverage of politics, culture, and international affairs. Today, it remains Egypt’s flagship state-owned newspaper and an important voice in Arab journalism.
